The Light Always Wins

A few weeks ago we took our boys to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.  They loved it!  Josiah especially liked the dinosaurs, and Matthew didn’t want to leave the play area.  There was a light room that was dark and allowed you to play with light and shadows.  There was also this life size Light Bright.  They had fun and so did we.

It was amazing to me how in a dark room the tiniest light was visible.  Lights that in a lit room wouldn’t be visible shine bright in the dark.  The darkness has it’s power, but it’s nothing compared to the light.  Where the light is the darkness cannot be.  When it comes down to it the light always wins.

When Jesus comes into our lives He gives us his light.  It’s a light that goes into the darkness and eliminates it.  Because His light in us is greater than the darkness that is in the world.  Think you can’t make a difference?  What difference does a tiny nightlight make in you child’s room at midnight?  Be that light and know that Jesus in you is all you need to conquer and eliminate the darkness that surrounds you.

In him was life, and that life was the light of men.  The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
John 1:4-5

. . . because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
1 John 4:4

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
