A God Nearby

Matthew was hiding from me.  Yes hiding!  Yes that’s the picture of him hiding.  As far as he knows if he can’t see me, I can’t see him.  Only one problem with that.  I can see him and even when I can’t I usually know where he is anyway.  I’m his mom.  Even if he’s hiding well I know he’s in the house.  I’m a mom nearby.
God calls himself a God nearby.  Even when we feel or think he can’t see us, hear our cries, or understand our circumstances He is there.  He always sees.  He always hears.  He always cares.  He fills heaven and earth and even if we try we cannot go anywhere he can not see us.  There’s just no playing hide and seek with God.  His presence is constant and brings peace to my heart.  He is nearby.  Whether we see Him or not, his Word is true.  He is nearby.
“Am I only a God nearby,” declares the Lord, “and not a God far away?  Can anyone hide in secret places so that I cannot see him?” declares the Lord.  “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 23:23-24
