The Grass Is Greener, The Pacifier Is Better

This is Caleb with his cousin in the nursery at church on Sunday.  I help out in the nursery and if one of the babies has a pacifier the others are sure to go after it.  Regardless of whether they normally use one or not.  Regardless of whether they have their own or not.  If there’s a baby with a pacifier in their mouth, the others are going to try to take it.
Even my Caleb.  Even with his own paci in his mouth he still swiped his cousin’s!  Cause the grass is always greener on the other side and the pacifier of another baby is surely better than his own.
When I want a clear picture of the sinful nature of man I just have to look at the 10 commandments.  If God gave a commandment not to lie, it’s because we have a tendency to lie.  If He commanded us to have no other Gods, it’s because in our sinful nature we are tempted to create other Gods.  He commanded us not to covet because He know’s that it is in our nature to covet.  To desire what other’s have.
It’s written in His word and I can see it demonstrated in even the smallest of children.  Let’s fight against it.  Let’s be grateful for what we have and rejoice with others in the blessings He has given them.
"You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."
Exodus 20:17
